I was born and raised in the island of Rhodes in Greece. I have always been fascinated by the human mind and people’s inner world. Early in my teenage years I made the decision to pursue a career in the field of psychology and psychotherapy.

I completed my Bachelor (BSc) studies in Psychology at the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki in 2008, majoring in Developmental and Educational Psychology (Hons). Throughout my undergraduate studies, I carried out my placement as a trainee psychologist at the School for Children with Special Needs of Thessaloniki and I worked as a volunteer at the ‘Agios Dimitrios’ Children’s Care Centre, the State Psychiatric Hospital of Leros and the Social Integration Programme for disabled children.

In 2009 I completed my Master’s degree (MSc) in Psychology and Disability Studies at the Manchester Metropolitan University. My voluntary experience at the Longsight Youth Centre in Manchester inspired me to conduct qualitative research, as part of my dissertation, exploring the way disabled young people develop social networks. In 2009 I was awarded ‘The Al-Emadi Prize’ for Best Piece of Assessed Coursework in the Counselling Area of Study by the Manchester Metropolitan University.

After the completion of my Master’s degree, I returned to Greece and worked as a psychologist at the Physical and Medical Rehabilitation Centre of Nigrita and the Psychological Support Programme ‘Education of Immigrant and Repatriate Students’ at the University of Thessaly. As a volunteer at the Greek non-profit organisation ‘The Smile of the Child’, I was involved in designing and facilitating play activities for children with neoplastic disease.

In 2013 I moved to Edinburgh, UK. For a few years I provided psychological support, mentoring and befriending services to people with autism and vulnerable families.

In 2014 I began the Diploma in Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) and Groupwork which I completed at ACT Counselling Services in Glasgow in 2016.

During my Diploma studies, I started working as a therapist at Midlothian Sure Start, where I had the opportunity to lead family counselling sessions using elements of a range of psychotherapy approaches (i.e. systemic family therapy, CBT, person–centred, psychodynamic) in a flexible, creative and integrative way. My role at Midlothian Sure Start also offered me the chance to provide one-to-one CBT to children and parents, and to facilitate reflection in a wide range of team settings (i.e. families, professional groups, multi-agency meetings). I worked closely with primary schools in order to design and facilitate emotional regulation groups for children. Sleep counselling was another service I offered to families with children who had additional support needs and experienced sleep problems.

In 2016 I co-facilitated the 'Living Life to the Full' CBT course in order to enable fathers and grandfathers in the area of Midlothian to manage their thoughts, feelings and behaviours more effectively in order to respond to daily life issues and demands.

From 2015 until 2018 I worked as trainee CBT therapist at The Health Agency at Wester Hailes Healthy Living Centre in Edinburgh providing one-to-one CBT therapy to adults on a weekly basis.

In 2019 I started my private practice as integrative psychotherapist working with children, young people, adults, couples, families and groups. I offer a safe, confidential and respectful space where people are invited to reflect on their thinking processes, their emotional world and find new insights in their experience. I deeply believe that each person is unique. My goal is to provide the type of therapeutic support that is suitable to each person’s needs and character.

I am a warm, compassionate and sensitive individual who is genuinely interested in people’s stories and their rich meaning. I bring to my work empathy, humour and I embrace diversity by providing inclusive therapeutic services.

I work in accordance with the ethical codes and guidelines of BABCP (British Association for Behavioural & Cognitive Psychotherapies).
